Organization

There are 3 membership classifications: regular members, affiliate members and associate members. The Board of Directors sets the dues level of each member class annually. Dues are based on the calendar year.

o Regular members are regulated local exchange companies providing facilities-based service in the Commonwealth.

o Affiliate members are companies providing toll, wireless or non-facilities based local exchange service in the Commonwealth.

o Associate members are companies directly providing products, materials and services to the telecommunications industry in the Commonwealth.

A Board of Directors elected from its member companies governs KTA. Directors are elected for 1-year terms and may be re-elected. The election are held during the annual meeting. The Board meets on a regular basis.

The KTA office operates through the Board and a committee structure, thereby ensuring that its activities reflect the common interests of its members.

Committees

Executive Committee: Comprised of current officers and the immediate past president.

Standing Committees: Permanent committees determined by the Board of Directors. The Board appoints the committee chair for a 1-year term.

	Budget: reviews financial results and recommends the annual budget and dues schedules.
	Legislative: reviews state and federal legislative actions, recommends responses and develops positions and actions.
	Managers: coordinates the spring and fall Managers meetings.
	Plant & Traffic: coordinates the Fall Conference and Supplier Showcase.
	Program: assists other committees and staff in developing meeting programs and obtaining speakers.
	Safety: coordinates the program development of the annual safety seminar.

Other Committees: Special committees determined by the Board of Directors as needed.

	Nominating: reviews and recommends persons for Board membership at the annual meeting.
	Regulatory: reviews cases and projects at the PSC and provides information to members. This committee is attached to the Executive Director's office.
